In my first article I was hoping to write how good the Packers looked in a 35-3 win, but I can't. I will have to settle for how bad they looked in a 6-3 win over the Eagles. I have watched games where I could say "it's a shame someone had to lose" but never "it's a shame someone had to win". It was important for the Packers to win the game but it was a very ugly win on Sunday. The Packers have a great deal to be alarmed about after this game. The offense was pathetic for the third straight week. It was a good thing they were not playing Tampa Bay because they would have been held scoreless in Lambeau. It is time to seriously consider benching Favre. His accuracy is way off and his deep passes look like a Ray Guy punt. I know it's not all his fault, but they must have production from him to win. Holmgren wanted to bench Favre in favor of Brunell and that woke him up. Favre went on to be the best in the game after that, so I think it might be time for a wake up call. I am glad the coaches made adjustments to take advantage of the middle of the Eagle secondary in the second half. But mistakes cost them opportunities to put the game away. The Eagles hurt their chances by stupid penalties, and kept the Pack in the game. This was a game that Bubba Franks could have really shined, but he can't get off the line of scrimmage, need I say more about the offense. The Packer defense did play its best game of the season. With the secondary coming up with some good plays by McBride and Sharper. I thought McBride did a great job by hanging tough and putting the opener behind him. The Pack is really going to need him to play well being that McKenzie is hurt. I hope that Hunt gets more playing time at tackle because I am not impressed with Maryland at all. Well let's hope Favre and the offense get better soon or it will be a long year. Something to think about: What gives Santana Dotson the right to celebrate after he gets a coverage sack?
