Hello Packer Fans! On a beautiful fall day in Green Bay the Packers shut out the Lions 26-0. But it could have been a lot more impressive. After the Pack scored TD's on it's first 2 possesions, they had to settle for 4 Mason Crosby field goals when they should have scored at least 3 more TD's. Once again penalties and sacks raised their ugly heads to stall drives. Against a team that had 3 of it's 4 starting defensive linmen out, Rodgers was sacked 5-6 times. This isn't a good sign. Allan Barbre once again couldn't adjust to the defensive switches and let 3 of those sacks happen. Chad Clifton playing in his first action in 3 weeks looked rusty and had 3 penalties in the first quarter alone. Then he gets hurt again and his status for next week against Cleveland is in question. Why isn't McCarthy and Thompson beating the bushes for o-line talent? How much more can Rodgers take before he gets hurt? Ted, this is the guy YOU picked to replace Favre. Shouldn't YOU be doing something about this? And before I forget, congratulations to Donald Driver for becoming the all-time receptions leader in Packer history. He passes Sterling Sharpe to sit all alone on top of that list. Not bad for a 7th round pick who only caught 3 passes in his rookie year.
The defense played really well against a guy that used to be a real thorn in the Packers side. Duante Culpepper is not the same qb we used to see in Minnesota. Add in that star receiver Calvin Johnson and rookie QB Matthew Stafford were hurt and you can see why this Lions team today didn't have any bite. But if what I saw is an indication of what could be, Detroit could very well be a force to be reckonned with in the near future.
Now it's on to Cleveland for a date with the Browns. Until Next time Packer Fans, SEEEE YAAA!!!
