Hello all of you loyal Football ^FAN^atics,
Yesterday, I watched a very good game that the Green Bay Packers were victorious in. Coach Mike McCarthy has been trying to “Throw” a wrinkle into their game playing technique, by adding a running mentality into his play calling but it always seems to be #4 to the rescue.
The Green Bay Packers win 2 weeks in a row at two of the toughest places for a road team to pull out victories -- Invesco Field at Mile High (Denver Broncos) and Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs). That winning streak gives the Packers six straight wins away from home, the teams longest such streak since 1966-67. Later that season, Green Bay went on to win the coveted Lombardi trophy. Could this be another appointment in the Super Bowl?
I think that Brett Favre must have found a Genie in a bottle that gives him a wish every time he tells his teammates in the huddle that this play a touchdown will be scored. Plus, he was told by that Genie that he would defeat every team in the NFL before he retires. With Brett Favre completing his Royal Flush by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, as he has now beaten every team in the NFL. Favre finally achieved another record in his outstanding quarterbacking career. It appears that he has had some in-depth talks with that Genie, Brett must have been told to keep playing the game he loves, as his abilities greatly outweigh his inabilities.
Onto a sidebar about setting league records, congratulations Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings. He set the NFL's single-game rushing record of 296 yards at the midpoint of his first pro season. On 30 carries, Peterson topped 200 yards rushing for the second time in one season, no other rookie has accomplished has accomplished that feat.
Now that Adrian Peterson has set the single-game rushing record, could Eric Dickerson's rookie single-season rushing record be far behind? Dickerson rushed for 1,808 yards as a rookie for the Los Angeles Rams in 1983. With 1,036 rushing yards through eight games, Peterson is on pace to smash the long-standing league record.
Until my next article, Louie (LOUUP)
