Hello again Packer Fans, once again our men in Green & Gold have delivered another victory, a 23-16 win over the Viqueens in that damn dome! It's a good thing we have Brett Favre on our side because without a real running game to depend on we really need his arm.
Vernand Morency returned to the line up for the first time this season. Hopefully he is just a little rusty and he will finally take some pressure off the passing game. Until then we will have to live and die with the passing game. So far, so good!!
Brett broke 2 more of Dan Marino's NFL passing records on Sunday:
- most pass attempts in a career
- most career Touchdowns(The one we were waiting for)
The NFL record breaking TD pass number 421 was a 16 yard slant to Greg Jennings that was thrown perfectly. Coach McCarthy must be thanking his lucky stars that Jennings is back to the form he was showing last year before the injury.
James Jones showed his speed and catching ability when running the flaw-less sideline route for Brett Favre's TD pass number 422. The Packer receiving corps is becoming one of the most lethal in the NFC.
With every silver lining, there is a dark cloud. The fumbles should never have happened. Donald Lee and Morency have been around long enough to know how to protect the ball. The Lee fumble lead to a Viking field goal instead of a Packer TD. This team can't afford to give up 10 point swings like that.
As for Brett, what can you say, the man has not missed a game in 17 seasons. He has finally realized that he doesn't need to force a 100 mph missle into double and/or triple coverage any more to win a game. The man is a consumate professional. After hugging Deanna and the rest of the family in attendence, he sat on the bench and started breaking down game photos while they played a congratulations video from Marino. I'm sure this wasn't meant as a slight to Dan. Knowing what kind if player he was, Dan would have done the same thing. Congratulations to both Brett and Dan. These are the kind of pro athletes that make Pro sports worthwhile.
Now it's back to Lambeau for a Sunday night meeting with Da Chicago Bears. Chicago is reeling from a loss to the Lions and should not be taken lightly. As every Packer fan knows, team records do not matter when these two teams tussle. Until next time Packer Fans.......Seeeee Yaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
