Hello fellow Packer fans! Contrary to popular belief I am not in the Mendota Mental Health facility, although this season so far would drive any true fan nuts. I actually wrote 2 articles only to lose them in cyberspace. I think I solved the problem. Now that I think I got my head out of my butt, let's review.

This team could easily be 3-2 instead of 1-4. Of the 3 losses at Lambeau the only one they should have lost was to ( I HATE to say this) is to the Bears. The other 2 could have been prevented if the O-Line could somehow manage to protect Favre late in the game.

The last loss to the Rams is living proof to that. How can you let your man get to the QB when you are 36 seconds and less than 10 yards away from winning? Hope Ted Thompson is happy with his decision to let BOTH Wahle and Rivera leave. I know he couldn't afford both of them but couldn't he have at least tried to keep one of them? Colledge, Spitz, and Moll look pretty good for rookies but, it will take time for them to become first rate NFL linemen.

Speaking of rookies, how about WR Greg Jennings? The kid seems to have all the tools to become an All-Pro. And he is absolutely fearless going over the middle. He and Driver make a lethal combination at WR. The pick up of Koren Robinson could work out well if he can manage to stay out of trouble in Green Bay. He is facing some kind of punishment from the NFL for his DUI in Minnesota so I hope they don't lose him before the season is over. Because let's face facts.

After Robinson, who do the Packers have? Robert ( oops, I have another boo-boo) Ferguson and Ruvell Martin. Ferguson was a completely wasted pick. They could have had Chris Chambers but, Mike Sherman didn't think a WR from a running program like Wisconsin could play in this offense. Well, Ferguson CAN'T stay healthy enough to play anyway!! And all Chambers has done is become a fixture in Miami's offense. Nice job.

And I think the defense would be alright if they could stay on the sidelines a little more. Too many 3 and outs by the offense has led to too many breakdowns late in the game. My opinion of the Charles Woodson signing is that I haven't seen anything that impresses me too much this season. I, like may others, had high hopes for the secondary after he was signed. And Al Harris hasn't shown me why he deserves  a new contract either. I have seen him blow more than 1 coverage and more than 1 interception opprotunity in just the first 5 games that leads me to believe that instead of giving him more money Thompson should peddle him while he can still get something for him.

It's good to see that Thompson and Coach McCarthy have had enough of the Ahmad Carroll fiasco. Again, another wasted pick by the former regime. Carroll's lack of talent is why he was constantly being flagged for pass interfernce or holding. I don't know if he just thinks he is better than he actually is or if he was too stubborn to take coaching by the staff. Well he's somebody elses problem now.

And finally I would like to wish a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Brett Favre. I think he still plays pretty good for a 37 year old QB. So Ted and Mike, let's get him an O-line and let him start shredding the opponents for the rest of the season. That's all for now Packer fans.
