2006 Free Agency!

Hello all of you loyal Football ^FAN^atics, I did some investigation into the 2006 NFL free agency period that began four days ago and here is some noteworthy situations that took place.

Number one on my mysteriously puzzling question is: Why did the San Diego Chargers choose to get rid of their amazing starting quarterback, Drew Brees? The New Orleans Saints have signed him so, will they keep the No. 2 overall selection in the 2006 NFL Draft?

Cleveland Browns have probably done the best job of improving the roster with free-agent signings! To make a very sweet deal with Joe Jurevicius had to be very delightful and outstanding for their up-and-coming franchise. Browns GM Phil Savage deserves very high praise for closing the deal on Joe Jurevicius and other free agents that they acquired.

Will Keyshawn Johnson end up in Seattle? The Seahawks need someone to replace Jurevicius, so will Keyshawn Johnson be the player to replace him? Keyshawn Johnson and Mike Holmgren might be on the same team this fall.

I received this other newsy report from the Baltimore Ravens in an Email letter: “The Baltimore Ravens announced today that they have agreed in principle to a three-year deal with Jamal Lewis, retaining one of the NFL's top running backs. After undergoing off season ankle surgery, the 5-11, 245-pound back led the Ravens with 1,097 combined yards last season, including 906 rushing and 191 receiving. Lewis, a 2003 Pro Bowler, returns to a backfield that also added former Denver Broncos running back Mike Anderson. "We are so excited to have Jamal back," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome. "If you look at his history, he always rebounds in a big way from adversity. He had a tough 2005 that started with surgery, his incarceration (imprisonment) and then dealing with all of the turmoil during the season with the contract hanging over his head. We expect big things from him."”

Did you know? Since 1994, the first year of the salary cap, the cap number was $34.6 million and alot of fans thought that high dollar figure was astronomical. In 2007, it will be $109 million -- an increase of 215 percent.

That is all of my reporting from Gods Country in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. May God shine His Peace on all of you! LOU^U.P.^
