Who will win?

Hello, all you loyal football fans! As everybody knows, the Superbowl is being played in the Motor City on February 5th ending another great year in football. I am totally bummed with the aspect of only seeing 1 more NFL game that has any meaning to it before the league actually starts playing again.

On Monday’s version (1/24/06) of NFL “Live,” the commentator’s told the viewers about who was favored to win. It is the Pittsburgh Steelers and they listed a few reasons why. Or could it be that they are from the AFC (where football originated from) instead of the NFC? (the kiddy league) First Coach Cowher said it’s been 10 years since his last was Superbowl appearance. He had only been head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers for 4 years. Even though, they aren’t actually home, (the Bus is) the NFL asked Coach Cowher what color jersey they wanted to wear. He elected his team to wear the white jerseys. To me, it sounds like he has some superstition involved with his decision making. Since they were the 6th seed of the AFC, they never played at home in the playoffs. He obviously didn’t want to change any tradition he had going his way. Could it be that their black (away jerseys) as the Detroit Lions packed the wrong bag to fly home on January 1st trying to pull a New Years gag/joke? Maybe he didn’t look at the whole scenario closely enough, or he showed up for the scheduled meeting too late! (>; (>: (>; LOL! Also, since Seattle hasn’t lost at home this regular season, he would make them wear their home uniforms, that is an oxymoron.

Seattle is going to honorably display that “No Respect Card.”

  1. They are the number 1 seed from the NFC.
  2. While Pittsburgh is the number 6 seed from the AFC.
  3. Seattle has the league MVP (Shaun Alexander) 28 TD’s and amassed 1,880 yards rushing!
  4.  Seattle’s defense had 50 sacks (no player on that team had double-digit sacks, 11 players had at least 1)
  5. Seattle’s red zone offense number 1 in the league
  6. Seattle’s red zone defense number 2 in the league
  7. Seattle’s only home team that is undefeated at home in the league
  8. Seattle is the highest scoring home team in the league
  9. Best team in the league on 4th down conversions (7 of 8)
  10. Reading all of that rather important data, I can’t imagine to think that they shouldn’t be the favorites.

Mike Holmgren could be the only head coach that ends up winning 2 Superbowls with 2 different teams. Think of the previous team he coached? Also, how sure he was to have the back up quarterback for Brett Favre follow him to the “Emerald City!” Last year, he looked at his team’s whole situation and that he decided to change his attitude. The Seahawks are performing to his exceptional playing level, which they were hired for. May God shine His Peace on all of you! Until next time, LOU^U.P.^
