Greetings all you football fans! Hello, as most commentators that speak about the NFL, they always mention Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts (10-0) as the absolute finest in the whole league this year. Of course, they don’t even mention that he has very capable teammates behind him, executing the plays that he calls at the line.
They don’t even mention another quarterback that has been in the league for a very long time. I am talking about the future Hall of Fame inductee, Brett Favre. Most quarterback’s in the league always try to mimic his remarkable playing ability and he isn’t receiving the proper recognition at this time. Take this into mind, the majority of his receivers are not playing because of injuries. If he had a few more receivers to throw the football to, instead of Donald Driver, he should definitely achieve the recognition hands-down.
Drew Brees of the San Diego Chargers is another quarterback who deserves some recognition but with his teammates not having too good of a season, (7-4) he isn’t receiving the accolades that he should. He has had some outstanding performances that were much better than 2004-05. When I reviewed the whole league’s schedule, I took into consideration of that team’s quarterback. His play last year, was why I predicted the San Diego Chargers to win the Superbowl in 2006. At least, he now has Antonio Gates receiving his passes, unlike when that team suspended him for a few games at the beginning of the year. They certainly shot themselves in the foot by suspending him this season!
Time to switch gears, Tedy Bruschi (32 years young) is a very courageous player with overwhelming playing ability. Some of you might know about him suffering a stroke on 2/16/05. I was watching ESPN’s “NFL LIVE” a few days ago, which he was being interviewed, on TV that I recorded and I jotted down a few notes. He was talking about being totally blind in his left eye immediately after the stroke. He went on talking about his doctor and his remarkable recovery. His doctor told him, “a millimeter to the left or right, the blood clot could have caused him to die.” He is a living inspiration to both players and us fans! Also, he was asked what some of his thoughts were after the stroke. He replied: “My love for football as it taught me discipline!” He mentioned a few other things but really stressed “Discipline!”
Enough of my rambling on, so I will close, but first I should tell you this! All you Packers fans who plan on attending any of the Packer home games this year, please remember to help Deanna Favre’s cause by buying those new pink Green Bay Packers hats at the Packer Pro Shop.
Also you can get excellent christmas gifts for your family and friends at the PackerIQ Store which carries not only Green Bay Packer gear but also thousands of items for all the NFL, NCAA, MLB , NASCAR and NBA teams.
