Greetings all you football fans!
My VCR has got to be sick of the numerous amounts of times it has recorded NFL “LIVE” on ESPN2. I might not find time to do that too much more within the coming months as NFL regular season play is going to be occurring shortly.
However, I wanted to inform you football enthusiast of the following rules.
Rule 12-2-1D
All players are prohibited from grabbing the inside collar of the back or the inside collar of the shoulder pads + immediately pulling the runner down. This rule does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket. T.O’s injury prompted Rule 12-2-1D to be instated.
Rule 12-2-8E
“Unnecessarily running, diving into, cutting, or throwing the body against or on a player who (i) is out of the play or (ii) should not have reasonably anticipated such contact before the ball is dead...
Rule 12-2-8H
A kicker/punter, who is standing still or fading backwards after the ball has been kicked, is out of the play + must not be unnecessarily contacted by the receiving team through the end of the play or until he assumes a distinctly defensive position.
My question(s) to these new rules: How does the referee decide what is “Reasonable?” Also, some of the referees need a defense or a prosecuting attorney’s degree to understand and enforce the “reasonability” of these new rules!
This is a football game that should be fun and enjoyable players to compete in. The NFL leaders are getting too technical with some of these new rules.
All you fans, just remember to help Deanna’s cause by buying those new pink Green Bay Packers hats for they are helping to score a touchdown against cancer!
Gods Peace and Love to you! Until next time, LOU^U.P.^
