Minnesota Viking Mike Tice was fined $100,000 for reselling his allotment 12 Super Bowl tickets and re-selling this tickets when he was a Minnesota Vikings assistant coach from 1996 -2001. Coaches are allowed to purchase up to 2 Super Bowl tickets and sign an agreement not to re-sell them at a profit. Tice was unavailable for comment as he is currently enjoying his vacation. He has publicly apologized to his family, the commissioner, the NFL and the Viking fans and would like to consider this matter closed and focus on the up-coming season.
Of course he would like to put this behind him because he feels like he is above the rules. This is another example of poor judgment by a person associated with the Vikings organization.
Regarding this quote, taken from the foxsports.com article “Eagles laugh off talk of Owens-Porter trade” by “The Mouth” Owens:
Like I always said, if I'm one of the top players in the game, pay me like I'm one of the top players in the game," Owens said in an interview on Comcast SportsNet. "That's not being selfish. That's not being greedy. Right is right and wrong is wrong. ...
"I don't have to play football. I don't have to play for the Eagles. It doesn't matter what any of my teammates have said about me. That doesn't matter to me."
Ok, Terrell… What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. You signed a contract a year ago and agreed to your current salary, bonuses, and ego. What has changed now(besides your ego) and why did you sign the contract if it was not lucrative enough????
Honor your commitments to your teammates and the Eagles and shut your big trap!! I fully agree with the Eagles for sticking to their guns on this one.
