How much more are we going to put up with? Cletidus Hunt is in the dog house again with his coaches, the fans, his teammates. And I personally think it's time he got the boot. Make no mistake about it, he's nothing more than a cancer for the other younger players. That's not the example you want to set to the rookies and the first year players. Even Hunt's veteran teammates are fed up with his undedicated, self centered crap. Just ask Grady Jackson, his closest friend on the team. He's expressed his dismay at the fact Hunt was a no-show at the mini-camp.
So my next question is: What can Hunt be thinking?
There's a new system to learn, a new coach to get acquainted with and if nothing else, how about trying to improve on last year's defensive performance? He didn't have what anyone would mistake for a stellar year. To the point Sherman actually benched him toward the end of the season because he was so unmotivated. Of course, if you ask Hunt he'll tell you Sherman did it because he was resting him for the playoffs. What a chump!
How can this chuckle-head still believe that everything is going to be alright in Green Bay whenever he decides to return? Or perhaps he doesn't care.
Hunt needs to grab that train back to reality. I mean really. Everybody's calling for his head after this last incident. I read on a Packer-related web site the other day that over 80% of the people polled said it was time the Packers got rid of this clown. Doesn't he ever read a sports page, listen to the TV or radio? Everyone in Green Bay has expressed their disappointment in him in one paper or another, or on numerous web sites. He's no longer wanted in Green Bay. He skipped one too many practices for anybody to take him seriously about his football career. Which leads me to think there should be a way the league can make it possible for the team to get back some of the money they paid him.
Because you know, in part, the reason Sherman is still holding onto this slacker is because he paid him so much money in the first place and they can't recoup any of that so he'll look like an idiot again for another big fat contract mistake. (Joe Johnson...) But honestly, how can Hunt ignore the fact that his absence is costing him money. Over $500,000 to date. And that's no chump change.
How much more disrespect is the Packer organization going to allow? Hunt tells one of his own teammates he's staying away from Green Bay because of a tiff with Packer management. Only management doesn't have a clue at what he's referring to. Nobody's talked with him let alone had enough time to have a dispute with him. It's just another excuse for the underachiever to sit at home on his fat, ah, couch and not give a rat's, ah, couch, about trying to help his team.
The Packers just paid him $750,000 as a roster bonus and you would be hard pressed to even know the man's on the Packer roster from his presence around the facilities. There is no excuse, however, I'm sure he'll have a bus load of them when he finally comes crawling back to Green Bay. I say it's too late for that! I say let the younger players on the team get a shot at that starting position. They certainly can't perform any worse than Hunt has. And if he doesn't practice then he certainly shouldn't get to play. And if he's not playing, then he's walking. So let me say it loud and clear; it's time to send Hunt packing.
And good riddance!
