The Packers must find a way to restore their home field advantage, then follow it up with a road victory at Washington. Victories over Dallas & Washington are basically a must if the Packers want to make the playoffs. Two wins will improve their record to 4 – 4, plus it will give them 4 wins in conference play. If you lose games, you always want to have your losses outside the division and outside of the conference. The Packers are close to getting Grady Jackson back in the lineup, so that is a BIG plus when they face Clinton Portis of Washington. I have a feeling Ahmad Carroll will continue to improve and solidify the Packers secondary. Ahmad got burned for one touchdown last week, but sometimes you can learn from those mistakes, I hope he does! This week will be a good test for him against Keyshawn and Glenn; they know all the tricks. I thought it was really good seeing Davenport running the ball, his power gives the running game a new dimension. I know I have been HIGHLY critical about Tom Rossley, but I do hope his health improves! I have just one point to make about the victory over the Lions last Sunday. Why call a halfback option play when you are up by 21 points in the 4th quarter? Why use that play when basically you are just trying to burn time? I am not saying that throwing a pass wasn’t a good idea, they should have had Brett throw it. The Packers have just used up their “element of surprise” in a game they basically had won. That play would have been much nicer on Christmas Eve against the Vikings. Now all the teams will know that this play exists in the Packers playbook, dumb move, just a dumb move! Until next time, STAY SAFE!
