The Packers picked up where they left off last season, except this time they remembered to blitz! I must say the Packers looked really good in their victory over the Panthers. The offensive line didn’t miss a beat, and Ahman was Ahman scoring three touchdowns. Bob Slowik wasn’t kidding when he said, “ this year’s defense would be more aggressive”. It semmed the Packers blitzed on almost every down, but to their credit they came from every angle. The secondary did fall victim on a couple of blown coverages, but I thought they played well. I was particulary impressed with safety Mark Roman, I think he is a vital part of the secondary. With him in the lineup, it will free up Darren Sharper to do more around the line of scrimmage. The Packers defense did suffer a big blow with the injury to Grady Jackson. I thought there could have been a penalty against the Panthers on that play. Grady was engaged with one lineman when he was cut down by another, that is a penalty! I hope Coach Sherman brings that to the attention of the league office. The latest report is that Grady will be out 4-6 weeks with this injury.  This week the Packers play host to “Da Bears”, need I say more? I think the Packers blitz packages will give Bears quarterback Rex Grossman fits, but we shall see on Sunday. It looks like cornerback Mike Mc Kenzie might be ready to end his holdout. If he still wants to be traded, I wouldn’t bring him back. The last thing the Packers need is a distraction like this! The Packers have the Colts and Titans in the weeks to come, so a victory over “Da Bears” would be big! Until next time, STAY SAFE!
