Hello fellow Packer Fans! Well it''s been a while and I thought I should finally get around to writing about America's True favorite team. Well it's been a about 3 weeks since camp started and it looks like things are beginning to take shape. I really like the addition of DB Mark Roman. He seems to be that truly aggressive safety we have been missing since the forced retirement of LeRoy Butler.I think Roman is going to be an outstanding compliment to Pro- Bowler Darren Sharper. The only problem seems to be at corner. The more I see of Al Harris the more uneasy I get. Maybe he's pressing a bit due to the absence of Mike McKenzie. Or maybe he's trying to compensate for the rookies Ahmad Carroll and Joey Thomas. I think if Harris concentrates on what HE is supposed to do and let the coaching staff do it's job he'll be alright. As for the rookies, they got a bit torched against the Saints only because of bad habits. After watching all their heroes in the NFL play so aggresively for so many years , they now have to adjust to the new rules on defending. They both have enough speed to compensate for any mistakes so they really need to break the habit of trying to slow down the receivers by holding them after 5 yards. As for what we have seen in the last 2 pre-season games, don't worry so much. In a recent USA Today article the theory is most teams are not going to show you a lot of what they will be doing for the regular season in exhibition games. So don't sweat it gang, the TDs are going to be there.
And now on to a-forementioned MIA Mike McKenzie. It seems there are a number of things that are keeping him from reporting to camp and HONORING his contract. Depending on who you believe, the most important factor is either
A). The non- promotion of postion coach Lionel Washington
or B). Not enough money.
I think Mike has given so many hard shots in his career that it has shaken his brain a little too much. Maybe Washington didn't want the promotion.More than likely though I think his ego is clouding his judgement. Let's face it gang , the man has had 5 agents in 5 years. He SEEMED perfectly happy with his new contract LAST year. I think he saw that someone who is not the same caliber of player as he is got more money and now feels he got screwed. Well boo hoo hoo! Try living the lifestyle you have now on a "Blue Collar " paycheck! The fans are the ones who foot the bill for the big houses and exotic cars and all we ask is that you HONOR the commitment you made not only to the organization but, to US! C'mon Mike.
Time to grow up and be a man. A Man who HONORS his word. Until Next time Packer Fans..............SEEE YA!!!!
