Dear Mostly Packer Fans,

The following news that I received from "High Voltage Newswire" in an E-mail newsletter for June 4, 2004.

Do you know that he most talkative and productive tight end to run patterns in Denver was signed by CBS? Shannon Sharpe, retired from the Bronco’s and was hired by CBS. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection will serve as the replacement for Deion Sanders as an analyst for "The NFL Today" show.

Many wishes to him and look forward to seeing him on CBS. The Broncos starting TE, which will likely be a training camp battle, will have some tough shoes to fill. Although, the new TE, won’t have the unmistakable voice that Shannon Sharpe had in the Denver Bronco locker-room!

Pre-Season Report Vol. 1 Issue 146

The NFL cut list as of June 1st!

DT Marcus Bell, Cardinals

S Zack Bronson, 49ers

TE Steve Bush, Cardinals

RB Trung Canidate, Redskins

C Dave Fiore, Redskins

DT Daryl Gardener, Broncos

LB Jason Gildon, Steelers

DB Justin Lucas, Cardinals

QB Preston Parsons, Cardinals

DT Barron Tanner, Cardinals

QB Vinny Testaverde, Jets

LB Jeremiah Trotter, Redskins

QB Kurt Warner, Rams

CB Tyrone Williams, Falcons

Although Kurt Warner, who signed with the New York Giants is to be a tutor to their top draft pick Eli Manning, who by some slim chance might not ready to start this season.

"This is a great opportunity for me," Warner said. "This team is built for success. There are a lot of pieces in place to make a run for the championship now. It was that combination that made me excited about this opportunity!"

Vinny Testaverde and Bill Parcells are together again.

The long-expected reunion of the quarterback and coach became official Thursday when Testaverde signed with the Dallas Cowboys

Vinny Testeverde is heading to Dallas and while he is expected to compete for a starting job. But most likely, he will more than likely be a backup to Quincy Carter.

The Lions got the veteran tight end they wanted Thursday and -- if they can keep him healthy -- they should also get the production they are seeking. Team sources confirmed that six-year veteran Stephen Alexander, a Pro Bowl selection with the Washington Redskins in 2000.

There is a possibility Alexander will join the team in time for some or all of next week's mini-camp activities at Allen Park. Alexander has played 14 games or more in four of his six NFL seasons and has averaged nearly 40 receptions in those four seasons.

He has been hampered by injuries in two of the last three years, however, playing only seven games at Washington in 2001 and only three games last year with the San Diego Chargers before suffering a season-ending injury.

Alexander's injury last year was similar to the sports hernia that limited Lions defensive end Kalimba Edwards! The team says it was corrected surgically.

The Lions have given former starting tight end Mikhael Ricks permission to seek a trade. Stephen Alexander is in, plus, it looks like Michael Ricks is out. The Lions offense appears to be on the right track, so Alexander could get his share of action in the red-zone.

Gods Peace and Love to you! Sincerely, LOU^U.P.^
