I was just looking over the 2004 NFL schedule... looks like Green Bay gets to play my Panthers on the first Monday night game of the season. Makes sense that Carolina finally gets a Monday date, having appeared in the Super Bowl. But, explain this to me: Green Bay has three of the coveted Monday games. So does Dallas.Carolina has only the one, and the defending champs managed to only get two.
Yeah, I know that it is all about TV revenue, and teams like Carolina have a fraction of the fans that Green Bay does, but I wonder if there is a better way to distribute the Monday games. There are 32 teams and 16 Monday night games... that means each team could play a Monday game.
Or, let's go the reality TV route... American Idle style voting... During Halftime of the first Monday night game, the viewers can call and vote for the matchup they want to see the next Monday. Of course, then we would wind up watching Green Bay play every Monday, wouldn't we?
...just a thought.
