To say this was a banner day for the Green and Gold is putting it mildly. First "Da Bears" upset the Vikings. Then the Pack put a beating on the Chargers. On top of all that 3 team records were broken today. The 1st to fall was Jim Taylor's 41 year single season rushing record in the 1st drive of the game by Ahman Green. Then in the 2nd quarter Brett Favre broke Cecil Isbell's 61 year record streak by throwing a td pass in 23 straight games. And then finally Ryan Longwell became the leading scorer in team history passing the legendary Don Hutson. But this game had it's share of scares after halftime.San Diego scored 18 unanswered points in the 3rd to take a 21- 17 lead. I don't know about you gang but I started thinking " Oh No, here we go again!" But then after a great kickoff return by Najeh Davenport , Favre connected with Robert Freguson on a 40 yd td pass in less than a minute and then the Men From Green Bay never looked back as THEY scored 21 unanswered points to salt this one away. I'm still concerned about the way the O-Line is run blocking. Green didn't break 100 yds AGAIN today. Something looks out of sync to me.But Favre made up for it with 4 td passes and only 1 pick. And then the D played an AWFUL 3rd quarter only to wake up in the 4th to lock down the victory. But then again they forced 4 turnovers and Grady Jackson is looking like a keeper game after game. See gang, not all former Saints are duds. If this team can keep from the big letdowns that seem to have hit during these last few games they could make a respectable run at the post-season. Now it's on to Oakland for a Monday night showdown with the Raiders. This is not the same Raider team from last year but, you can't afford to take them lightly. Hopefully they can take this one and then be ready for the Broncos who are still in the Wild Card hunt.
Now on to another subject. What is up with Fox Sports? They delayed the first 4 minutes of the Packer game to show us the Rams - Seahawks finish. SO WHAT!! They could have updated us with a game break later. Help me out here readers, was this a Network screw up or just my local station? My bet would be the Network. Well at least we're now tied for 1st in the division and with a little luck and a little help maybe America's REAL Team can take the division. ( No Louie, I don't mean Minnesota). Until next week fellow Packer fans.....................SEE YA!!!
