A Big Win, Ugly, But Big/ Keyshawn?

In a game that looked like the Pack was trying to lose withthe 3 picks Brett Favre threw, the defense and the ground game came to the rescue as Green Bay mauled the Niners 20-10. You can see the offensive philosophy change since the injury to Favre's thumb.Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, and Tony Fisher have been pounding out the yards that for years was what Brett did so effectively. The running of these 3 accounted for241 of the 379 total net yds onoffense with a very respectable 5.1 yds per carry average. Favre was as good as he needed to be going 10 of 15 for 138 yds, 2 tds and the 3 picks. The opening drive though is what set the tone when Favre hit Javon Walker with a 66 yd td on 3rd and short. The pass was right where it had to be and Walker did a fantastic job of catching it, shedding his defender and tip toeing down the sideline for the score. Another player who is really coming into his own is WR Robert Ferguson. He only had 2 catches but his athletic ability was apparent on his 16 yd td catch. He saw the goaline and stretched the ball over before he was knocked out of bounds. Add in his terrific, and might I say selfless play on special teams ,and you can see why he is becoming another valuable asset to this team. My big question for the offense is "What happened to Bubba Franks today?' He was out of position on one of Favre's picks and mistimed his jump on the other. Could it be that the success of the ground game has taken away Bubba's concentration? Let's hope not because with 5 games to go and the division title still in sight this offense needs all it's weapons at peak performance.

The defense played yet another inspired game except for 2 costly penalties that gave the Niners it's points, especially the 15 yd unneccessary roughness call on Larry Smith in the 3rd that led to a td by Terrel Owens. But when it really counted the D really came through. They held S.F. to 192 net yds and sacked QB Tim Rattay 4 times. And what about Antaun Edwards?! He just body slammed a receiver to the ground to prevent a first down (I Think that might have been Owens.) Made play after play and , with Frisco driving in the 4th, made the big pick off Rattay with 6:08 remaining to seal the victory.Nice game A.T.!!!!! This is what we were expecting when he was first drafted. Now we just got to hope that the injuries to Darren Sharper and Nick Barnett aren't serious and they can play on Turkey day against the Lions. You can't count on the records when the Lions play on Thanksgiving. They always seem to play well that day. So let's hope that everyone of our beloved Pack comes into Detroit hungry and gobble up the Lions for win #7!!

And now on to the subject of Tampa Wr (or should I say Former WR) Keyshawn Johnson. Once again Keyshawn is getting in his coach's faces and screaming about not getting the ball. If you recall that is the same attitude that got him the boot in New York. Jon Gruden is a proven winner and dosen't need Keyshawn to tell him how to coach. If not for the numerous injuries, Tampa Bay could very well be right in the play-off picture. You really have got to feel sorry for Gruden. You got Warren ( Hey! Dig Me!) Sapp in one ear and Johnson in the other. I admire Gruden for telling Johnson to take a hike. Maybe it will show some of the other Prima Donnas that he is no one to fool with. Til Next Time gang, have a very Happy Thanksgiving!....................SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
