Meltdown in Tempe

In what should have been a walk over victory the Packers lost to an aggressive Arizona Cardinals team 20-13. No use going over the stats of this one because all in all the Pack just plain stunk up the joint. On defense there was little or no pass rush. Same for pass coverage. Is it my imagination or did it look like Bhawoh Jue couldn't covera corpse if he had to? I can't believe how good the secondary made the Cards rookie receivers look. It wasn't all their fault though. No pressure on Qb Jeff Blake gave them all the time in the world to get open. With the success of the passing game it gave Emmitt Smith a chance to pad his all-time rushing stats. If the defense had played with half the intensity of the Arizona heat the outcome could have been very different. On other problem with the defense was the lack of a offense. They spent too much time on the field while Favre and company kept cool on the sideline. This is not the powerhouse we saw last weekend. No real rushing game. A passing attack that was made useless by too much Cardinal pressure. I don't know if the credit belongs to the Arizona defense or the lack of effort of the Packers offensive line. All in all this was a poor effort on all fronts. I guess we can only hope that the coaching staff can light a fire under this team and get things turned around before the season starts to slip away. Next up is the always unpredictable match-up with"Da Bears". If this team does not come out fired up against Chicago then all I can say is it could very well be a very long season. Til next week........... SEE YA!!!!!
