Bucs bully passive Pack 21-7

This past Sunday the Bucs bullied the ultra conservative Packers 21-7. The word conservative took on a new dimension for the Pack against the Bucs. With a little more than 2 minutes left in the first half the Packers decided to kill the clock with conservative running plays instead of trying to add on to a 7-0 lead. By playing a prevent defense or a prevent offense, it does one thing, it prevents you from winning! I couldn’t believe my eyes as I witnessed the Packers giving away 3 points to the Bucs before the first half due to being conservative. I don’t know what Sherman or Rossley were thinking? All it showed me is that Sherman has very little confidence in Brett Favre and the Packer offense. Another thing that left me scratching my head was with second and two, in Buccaneer territory, they use the shotgun? Are you serious Rossley? Why don’t you just tell the Bucs what you are going to call? The really pathetic thing is not that they didn’t get a first down, they did it twice! The Packers appeared to have a good game plan until they went ahead 7-0. Then they decided to go into a conservative scheme, forgetting about misdirection, rollouts, and their tight end.

I do think that the defense didn’t play all that bad, even Tyrone Williams played better! In all fairness to the defense, they can’t be on the field as much as they were. The last two weeks I have noticed that Favre was defeated before the game started. Maybe he is going to retire? Maybe the coaches knew he was not mentally prepared, thus the conservative scheme? On one of Brett’s four interceptions Warren Sapp plastered Chad Clifton knocking the tackle clear off his feet. I personally thought the hit was not necessary because Clifton wasn’t near the play, but he did hit him high, not at his legs. It was pretty obvious Sapp had Clifton lined up for the hit and it was a big hit! Football is a very physical, intense game; the only problem is that Warren Sapp was more intense than the Packers. I didn’t see Sapp celebrating as Clifton was down motionless, so I can’t comment on that. According to Mike Sherman and a few players, Sapp did show some joy by taking Clifton out. If that’s the case, why didn’t the Packers go after Sapp? Where was their leader Brett Favre? Why didn’t Favre get in Sapp’s face then? Brett Favre has turned into a phony in his old age, first giving Michael Strahan the sack record and now this love affair with Sapp! If you don’t want to play and play with fire, then retire Brett! Until next time, STAY SAFE!
