Some things in life never change, the Packers losing in the Metrodome is one of those things. I wonder why do the Packers even show up? The only way I can describe the Packers performance was terrible! They reminded me of a Mike Tyson opponent, they tried to survive, not win! They were losers before the game even started, no enthusiasm, no desire, just very passive! The mental part of their game was at it’s worst against the Vikings. The Packers had way too many penalties, Favre looked like a rookie, the play calling stunk too! How many false starts will it going to take before Rossley scraps the shotgun in a dome? No rollouts by Favre, no mis-direction plays to keep the defensive pursuit honest, no offensive rhythm at all. Brett locked on to his main receiver much too often, so the defensive backs jumped the routes all game, so why not call a “pump and go”? Ron Wolf didn’t make too may bad decisions during his time with the Packers, but he did make two terrible ones. One of those decisions was to sign Antonio Freeman to that huge contract, the other happened in the summer of 1996. That summer, Tyrone Williams was serving time in jail for his part in a “drive by shooting”. Ron Wolf helped Tyrone get his sentenced reduced, Ron Wolf should have let him rot in jail! On November 3, 2001 I wrote an article called “Back to business” in the article I blasted Tyrone for his statements that he gets paid to be a “cover corner”. After yesterday, he should give his paycheck back! A year has past and Tyrone is still getting burned. There is no way that he is even more than a “nickel back” much less a “cover corner”. I am amazed how he can have decent coverage and the ball can come within a foot of his head, and the receiver always catches it.....why doesn't he look for the ball? Am I the only one who sees this? I also think it’s time that Javon Walker gets demoted to the # 4 receiver, he can’t catch and Terry Glenn isn’t much better. The Packers would be in serious trouble if not for Donald Driver. So lets hope this was just a bad day for the Packers and nothing more. Until next time, STAY SAFE!
