Victory over Skins could prove costly

In their best start since 1996 the Packers stuffed the Washington Redskins 30-9 in what very well could prove to be a very costly victory. Late in the 3rd quarter Brett Favre went down with what was determined at the time to be a left knee sprain. The Packer medical staff won't know for sure until they can get an MRI of Favre's knee. Doug Pederson came in and did a very efficient job. On the play that Favre was hurt on it looked like Earl Dotson couldn't decide who to pick up on a blitz and missed both defenders who rolled up on Brett's leg. Dotson has too many years in this league to make a mistake like that. Hopefully the 'bye' week will give Favre time to recover If his injury is nothing more serious than a sprain. The real star of this game though was the Patchwork defense of Ed Donatel and company. For the second straight week they played very inspired ball. Forcing and recovering 4 fumbles. Sacking rookie Skins QB Patrick Ramsey 5 times while playing a smothering coverage that yielded only one big gain. The one thing that troubled me the most was the penalties. Over 20 were called and at least 3-4 were questionable. The one that made me the most upset was the roughing the quarterback call on Marcus Anderson on the Skins 3rd drive of the game. The replay showed clearly that Ramsey wasn't hit in the head. At least the penalties didn't cost the Pack the game. Even with 1st and goal inside the Green Bay 10 the defense didn't give up a single touchdown and that happened 3 times! Even Jamal Reynolds played today and played well too!! He Looked like he belonged in there today. Maybe the times he was inactive for all those games gave him time to think about what he has to do to be an NFL impact player. Only time will tell.

Well fans that's all for now except to say that if any Packer fans live in the D.C. area please becareful There is that lunatic running around shooting people. Peace to you all. And I'll see you when I can. Might not be able to cover the Miami game because of work (DRAT!!) SEE YA!!!
