It appears that Mike Sherman has tried his best to keep the Packers in the right direction, only time will tell. Cleaning house of the less productive players was a good way to start, except for Dorsey Levens. Sherman still has hopes of getting Dorsey back for this season. Joe Johnson and Terry Glenn could prove to put the Packers over the top and back in the Super Bowl. Keeping William Henderson was a must and also keeping the offensive line intact was a top priority, good job GM Sherman! As far as the draft goes, I am not all that crazy about Walker, the #1 pick. His score on the intelligence test was pathetic; he said he didn’t take it seriously, and maybe so. He has the size and speed, but if he is not smart enough to run the right routes, they have drafted another Bill Schroeder! I personally would have taken Josh Reed from LSU. Reed might not possess the size and speed of Walker, but he is a very good route runner and excellent after the catch. I have a feeling that Driver or Lee might prove to be valuable this year, due to another year of experience under their belt. Sherman also didn’t draft a linebacker, which leads me to believe he might try and go after Hardy Nickerson. Torrance Marshall in the middle linebacker spot is still a big question mark. The problem of our kickoffs being terribly short last year must be addressed soon, that seems to be a problem no one has addressed. Until next time, stay safe!
