The Internet operates on a “stateless” model. This
means each HTTP request for a web page, image, file, or other web resource
is in itself unique and separate. Typically HTTP cookies are used to allow
a web site to determine that particular browser requests for files or information
are coming from a specific user/browser. The HTTP cookie contains information
for the browser regarding what web site it should use the cookie. The browser
sends the information contained in a HTTP cookie each time a request is made
to that web site.
There are typically two types of HTTP cookies:
Session cookies: These are stored in the memory of the browser.
They disappear when the browser is closed and only are good for the current
Internet session and current web site.
Persistent cookies: This are small-size cookie files that reside on the
user’s hard drive and do not get deleted when the browser is closed. They can
be deleted using the tools in the browser. Also they are deleted when the cookie expires. Please consult the Help menu of
your browser for more information on managing HTTP cookies and your privacy.
PackerIQ.com uses session cookies to unique identify
PackerIQ registered players when accessing the interactive portion of the
web site. Accepting session cookies is required when logging to participate
in the player’s content area. These session cookie ensure that proper credit
is given to the particular PackerIQ player that is participating in the interactive
games and contests. These cookies are deleted from the memory of the browser
when it is closed or when it expires. Clicking the logout link at the top of any page removes this cookie.
PackerIQ.com offers the option for a player to be
“remembered” for the next visit when logging into the web site. Registered
players that use this feature will be sent a persistent cookie that uniquely
identifies them for their next visit to the PackerIQ.com web site. On the
next visit, the player does not have to login again unless the cookie expires.
Clicking the logout link at the top of any page removes this cookie.
In either case above, PackerIQ.com does place cookies
on the user’s browsers that track Internet use outside the player’s content
area. The information in the cookie itself comes only from the information
that was entered during player registration. No information is taken from
the user’s hard drive.
Sometimes the display of the certain non-PackerIQ.com store specific product advertisements create a
third-party cookie on your browser to help them determine what products people are interested in.
These cookies do not track any of your internet usage outside of the merchant site.
Our sponsor advertisements do not generate these cookies.
