Old Days Revisited

The Red's Bio
Walter Stanley made me a Packer fan on Thanksgiving Day, 11/27/86, when he won the game on a huge punt return. I had just turned 6 and never looked back. It wasn't easy being a young Packer fan in the late 80's, aside from the aberration in 89. My parents had to buy me a yellow sweatshirt and draw a G in the center because they couldn't find any Packer stuff for me. I went to my first Packer game in 1992 at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Since then I've been to 14 more Packer games, 10 at Lambeau Field. I've lived in Upstate NY my whole life. I'm only 23, but I have a deep respect for the old days of Packer lore, including the Lombardi era and even into the mid-80's. When I visit Lambeau I'm sure to be wearing either my authentic Lynn Dickey jersey or my alternate Mike 'Mad Dog' Douglass jersey. Being a Packer fan is like nothing else--thank God for Walter Stanley.
