Hello, football has ended this season until the 2006 NFL starts playing preseason games! I decided to curtail my thoughts about Superbowl XL for awhile, as long as I still had my notes concerning that ridiculously refereed game were safe. But with the local radio station telling the listening audience to call in with their comments about Superbowl XL, I decided that I should make my observations be known to you fellow football fans!
However, I wanted to post my comments before individuals forgot about that game and wanted it still fresh in their memory! As you could tell from my previous article that I wanted the SEAHAWKS to win Superbowl XL. Obviously, that didn’t happen, as the Steelers were triumphant in the game battle.
I feel the same way that the SEAHAWKS head coach does about how the SEAHAWKS battled the Steelers as well as the individuals dressed like a Zebra! There were far too many wavering calls made and not made by the refs that would have made the SEAHAWKS game winners! Mike Holmgren was interviewed on ESPN’s “NFL LIVE” concerning the officiating in the Superbowl XL game. According to the analysts, he is going to get fined by the NFL.
In my mind he shouldn’t be fined. The referees should be accessed with that fine! However, the NFL officials should somehow install a way to put the referees through a “training camp” if they don’t already have to already go through a series of officiating procedures that they need to closely follow, to rectify this situation in a positive way. A NFL game that has the magnitude as the Superbowl does, before the league actually starts playing again, needs to exercise those very worthy actions.
The Houston Texans signed quarterback David Carr with a contract extension for another 3 years! By signing him, they most likely will select Reggie Bush as their first pick in the upcoming draft or trade that pick for a few unnamed players to some other team. Also, their new head coach, Gary Kubiak, has interviewed Mike Sherman for a coaching position with his squad.
ESPN, announced their new Monday Night Football broadcasting crew a few days ago. Their entire new Monday Night Football team, Mike Tirico, who will be the play-by-play voice, analysts Joe Theismann and Tony Kornheiser. Both of them will join Mike in the booth; sideline reporters Suzy Kolber and Michele Tafoya.
Will T.O. play for Denver Broncos next season? I have asked myself a series of questions over-and-over; “will he be happy with Jake Plummer’s performance? Other players in the league know that T.O. is a star, but with his poor playing performance at times, will he be accepted his fellow teammates?”
Well, those are my remarks concerning the referees accessing some incoherent penalties against the visiting during Superbowl XL. May God shine His Peace on all of you! In the words of the famous McKenzie brothers Bob and Doug; “Like Take Off”
