Good evening all you loyal football fans!
Hello, watching the divisional playoff games this past weekend, I was stunned by seeing some nonsensical calls by a few referees. A couple days later, I was watching my favorite sports show on ESPN and the commentators for NFL “LIVE” were dismayed by numerous referees calls in the games that were played.
Anyway, I decided that I should expess my opinion to this matter. In the New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos, the refs blantly missed a touchback. Was it an intentional call, as the game was at Invesco Field. Also in that same game, the refs called the New England Patriots (wrong team) as defensive pass interference. As the video replay showed (not viewed by the officials) that the team on offenses (Denver Broncos) should have been called with offensive pass interference. New England Patriots, Assante Samuel, was innocently defending his opponent. All NFL games have too many refs that don’t take the seriously enough! Somehow, the officials should be fined by the league for not being able to assert the proper call on the field of play! After all, they claim to be professionals. All the teams in the NFL, expect the games to be professionaly refed but if their players committed a wrong doing on the field intentionally be assessed a fine by his team” The NFL has been trying to tell the officials that this is a thought-provoking game by instituting the video replay in most crucial matters of play!
By now, I am going to shift gears as you might be tired of my ranting-and-raving about league officials. The New York Jets have hired Eric Mangini as their head coach. He was an assistant coach for the New England Patriots. Former assistant coach, Sean Payton, of the Dallas Cowboys is now the 14th head coach of the New Orleans Saints. Former Green Bay Packers head coach, Mike Sherman, interviewed for this job on last Thursday and Friday.
Other news around the league, it seems like the NFL teams are in the progress of hiring more and more younger assistant coaches as teams head coaches. Is ths a good idea? Personaly, I think it is as these younger prospects, know how revoluntionary football is in todays day-and-age!
