The way the season has gone it was only fitting that the Pack should win the NFC North title on a Ryan Longwell last second field goal 34-31. Longwell, who was passed over AGAIN for the Pro Bowl ,has won 4 of the 9 victories with his his right leg with only seconds to spare. He is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history and yet he gets passed over for the Pro Bowl year after year. Maybe, just maybe, he can get a little satisfaction over his peers if this team can put it all together and go all the way. Is it possible? Yes. Is it probable? Well, maybe. Stranger things have been known to happen. It looked like the game was going to be given away again. The defense did the poorest job of tackling I have ever seen. How can six people miss Michael Bennett on his 38 yd TD? Tackling is one of the first fundamentals you learn on defense. How can players who have been doing this since they were in GRADE school not get the job done? Last year they blamed Ed Donatel for the infamous 4 & 26 in Philadelphia, who gets the blame now? Is it new coordinator Bob Slowik? I am pretty sure he has expressed the need to get into position and use proper technique in order toTACKLE THE MAN WITH THE BALL BEFORE HE GETS BIG YARDAGE AND/OR SCORES!!! And then there was the pick Favre threw to Claiborne for a TD that almost lost the game. Favre once again is trying to do too much. Part of that is due to the lack of a decent running game the past couple of games. Maybe now that Reugamer is back they can get things going again. The biggest gift the Packers received yesterday was the play of WR Donald Driver. Driver made some incredible catches and some awesome moves on the Vikings secondary all day long. Javon Walker, although not the major threat he has been all season, also played a great game. It was nice that Driver told reporters that the receivers dedicated the game to fallen teammate Robert Ferguson. You know that Driver and company made Fergie proud. Now, after the season finale against Da Bears, the team will prepare for the first round of the playoffs. Depending on what happens between now and next Sunday, it very well could be a re-match with Minnesota at Lambeau. With the way the Pack has played at home this year that game is not a lock. But, I would still bet the farm on Green Bay at home in January. Until next time Packer Fans........Happy New Year "From The Cheap Seats"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
