Pack might have lost more than a game

In what is usually Packer weather, the Jacksonville Jaguars looked more like a cold weather team than Green Bay in defeating the Green and Gold 28-25. Once again it was numerous defensive penalties that kept the Jaguars from losing. If this team wants to last more than 1 game in the playoffs the D better get their heads out of their collective butts and start to focus on beating the team in front of them instead of helping them win. The 2 most glaring shortcomings are another first tier pass rusher to compliment KGB and another safety that can take the pressure off of Darren Sharper. Mark Roman showed so much promise at the beginning of the season but has drastically tapered off as the season has progressed. Maybe had they found a way to keep Mike McKenzie in the secondary they could have either converted him or 1st round pick Ahmad Carroll to safety and put Roman in at Nickel Back. But how many times can one put up with the constant mood swings and contract demands that McKenzie kept coming up with. Brett Favre had a very unlike Favre day. 2 of his 3 picks were completely his fault especially on 1st and goal from the 3. How he missed the defender standing right there is beyond me. On the third pick, Driver should have made a stronger effort to snag that pass instead of having it pulled away from him. This was especially painful since this happened right after the devastating injury to fellow WR Robert Ferguson. Ferguson was viciously clotheslined by Donovan Darius in what could only be described as obvious headhunting. If Darius wants to make a reputation in this game he better keep away from the cheap shots or those will come back to haunt him or worse, an innocent offensive teammate . I was glad to see that referee Ed Hochuli rendered swift justice and ejected Darius.

Although Green Bay has clinched a playoff berth, they need a win at Minnesota to clinch the division. The Vikes seem to be in their "December Swoon" but this team cannot afford to take ANYONE lightly. Let us hope that our beloved Pack gives their fans a NFC North title for Christmas. Until next time Packer fans remember that in the spirit of the season, take time to enjoy your family and friends. To all of you who like the view "From The Cheap Seats" have a joyous and safe Holiday season. Merry Christmas.
