Hello fellow Packer fans! If this defense keeps playing as undisciplined as it has the last 2 games, The Packers will only make a cameo appearance instead of a starring role in the playoffs. IF they make the playoffs! This D has accumulated about13-14 really DUMB penalties in the last 2 games. 6 for 74 yds. in the first half alone today. What were they thinking? Were they even trying to think? Beats me gang. Thank God the offense got on track in the 2nd half. Weather could be blamed for a lot of the 1st half woes, but the Lions played in the same conditions and did quite well for a dome team. but it was Favre and company coming back and playing a terrific 2nd half. Only an athlete like Brett would even attempt to make the throws he did. Or is it more gunslinger than athlete? Either way it is good to have him on our side. The defense must have gotten a royal butt chewing at halftime because they played an inspired 2nd half holding Detroit scoreless. That is the way this unit needs to play. Aggressive but under control.The most glaring weakness is at Safety. Since the forced retirement of LeRoy Butler,one of the best Defensive backs to ever don the Green and Gold , the secondary has been suspect to teams like the Eagles, Colts and Titans who can rack up big numbers in a hurry. Bwahoh Jue is not the answer. Neither is rookie Ahmad Carroll, at least not yet. Besides Carroll is more corner than safety. Looks like the Pack needs to address this problem in the off season either through the draft or free agency. Well gang now we welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars to the "Frozen Tundra". Hopefully the weather will be a factor again when facing a hot team fighting to get into the playoffs.
