The interception by Brett Favre in overtime was just the last of many poor plays and / or decisions made by the entire team as the Packers lose to the Eagles 20-17 to end the season. After starting out 14-0 after the 1st quarter it looked like the Pack was going to roll through Philly on it's way to Carolina. But then all sorts of bad things began to happen. 3 times on kick-offs or punts special teams were called for stupid penalties that took away decent field position. I mean c'mon, after all this time and especially with so much at stake you know better than to hold or worse block a guy in the back on a return. Even I know that if you see a name and number in front of you, DON'T HIT IT!!!!!!!! And as far as kick coverage is concerned , that was an awful effort today. The decision to NOT kick the field goal on 4th and 1 late in the 2nd was HUGE! I know that a td would have really put Philly in a hole, but , that 3 points could have been the difference in regulation. And what about the decision on 4th and 1 with 2:30 to go? The idea that the Eagles MIGHT just jump off sides in order to give the Pack 1st down was a desperate act. Sherman wasn't playing to win , he was playing not to lose. And if history teaches us anything, it's that you have to play to win on the road in the playoffs because there is no tomorrow. Even with all of that, the game should have been decided on 4th and 26 but the defense let the Eagles gain 28 yds on a pass that should have been covered. WHERE WAS THE COVERAGE ON THE SLOT RECEIVER?!

So Packer fans we have reached the end of another season. Although it ended 2 games short it was still great. After starting out 3-4 the Packers went 7-2 to finish the season 10-6 and thanks to the big choke by the Vikes, won the division. The loss of Brett's dad Irv and the amazing Monday night game he had against Oakland. The end of the season now gives Brett time to grieve and come to grips with the loss of his dad.The numerous records that were set this season by the team are something to look back on and smile.So until next season Packer fans,take care of yourselves and each other. My last column of the season will probably be the Super Bowl recap.
