A Disastrous Start/ He's BAAACK!

For a team that was picked to win the NFC North the Packers looked anything but champ-like in their 30-25 loss to the Vikings. Lapses on defense and offense made this one hard to watch at least until the end when Favre started to find his receivers instead of Vike defenders. From what I saw the 4 picks were not all his fault. But these things are bound to happen with a young receiver corps. Add in the injuries to 3 of Green Bay's 5 receivers and you can see cause for concern. The worst of them all of course was the neck injury to #1 wide out Donald Driver. I don't know about you gang, but I had a huge lump in my throat when I saw him hit the turf like that.Fotunately it was just a sprained neck and not a broken one. As for the defense, I thought they could have played better but with all the time they spent on the field they did about all they could do. A Darrren Sharper at 100% healthy instead of 70-80% probably would have limited Randy Moss to a lot less catches than he had. Is this team overrated or did injuries before and during this game lead to this defeat? What about the lack of experience at receiver? Or middle linebacker? To be truthful fans I'm not sure myself. I guess only time will tell.

And now, back for a return engagement. A legend in his own mind. I give you ladies and gentlemen the one. the only Antonio( don't take my money) Freeman!Yes boys and girls he is back. I don't know how the rest of you feel about it but I for one have mixed feelings. On one hand Free is as close to a "Plug-in and Play"component as you can find in a wide receiver. Only gone for a year, he still knows all or at least most of the plays. He knows what to expect from Brett. And he adds experience to a very green receiver corps. My concern is what can we expect from him? Will he go out and try to prove Mike Sherman he was wrong to release him or will he just go through the motions for a paycheck? If you all recall, the main reason Freeman was released was that he didn't want to renegotiate his contract to help the team get under the salary cap thereby showing how selfish he could be. I hope that being released by the Eagles and not getting picked up until a team was desperate for help wakes Antonio up.Not only for the Packers and their fans, but for his own well being. Until next week fans..............SEE YA!!!!!!
