Saints fans should be sending a big thank you note to the Packers for handing them a 35-20 victory in New Orleans.I mean every aspect of the game was ,except for a few moments, horrible. The defense couldn't cover or tackle anyone. The offense kept turning the ball over deep in their own territory.Special teams was probably the only unit that didn't stink up the joint. And I am talking about bad seafood kind of stink. The offensive line was outplayed for most of the game with the exception of the first 2 drives. Favre was running for his life all day long. It didn't help matters that Mike Wahle got called for 3 big penalties that stalled drives and Mark Tauscher looks to have a MCL injury that could keep him out for 4-8 weeks. There were some bright spots. Terry Glenn finally got on track and hauled in a 14 yd touchdown that was incredible to say the least. He made a fantastic adjustment and catch while falling down.Darren Sharper and Mike McKenzie each picked off passes with Sharper's setting up the Favre to Glenn td .But even Brett Favre can only do so much.He threw his first pick on a tipped ball, had Glenn fumble after a catch which was run back for a td.Ahman Green had another fumble today. This should have been a better effort by everyone active for this game. The secondary got torched all day long especially by Joe Horn who had 5 catches for 107 yds in the first half alone!C'mon guys, you can cover better than that. Well maybe a trip to Detroit and their new stadium, Ford Field , will be just the tonic to cure this ailing team. One can only hope and pray.

And now on to a sad note. Quarterbacking legend Johnny Unitas passed away this week The hall of famer came into the game at a time when the league had so few great passers. He had held or still holds almost every passing record in NFL history. Although he never wore the Green and Gold, I found myself rooting for him as long as he wasn't playing against us.Johnny U was always a gentleman on and off the field much like our own Bart Starr. They don't make them like that anymore. Godspeed Johnny U.
