The following was sent to us by Redbaron the second place winner in the NFL Picks Contest:

"Packeriq.com is the best site on the net!! This is the second year I’ve been a participant in the Picks Contest and it’s really been a fun year with all the upsets…right up to the Super Bowl. Congratulations to the Cheesehead who is Number 1 and I’m sure he(?) agrees that it was a battle to the very end between the two of us. Maybe it will be a shock when he finds he’s been behind a 72-year-old female football Fanatic all year. I’ve been a fan of the Pack since my son played high school football in Ohio . Vince Lombardi was a prince of a fellow and around our household, since my son played Defensive end, we knew all the Numbers and names of the defensive players for the Packers, and of course the winningest quarterback of all time, Bart Starr. He was the quarterback for the Packers when I first became such a fan. Being a southern “girl” it didn’t hurt his reputation at all with me that he had first made headlines leading the Crimson Tide. In the 70’s I became a widow and several years later, I was fortunate enough to find Myself a GENUINE Wisconsin Packer fan from Racine and we have been happily married for 22 years.

His favorite story is told about the night he and his teenage Buddies had gone down to Illinois and were having a great deal of difficulty “thumbing” a ride back to Racine when suddenly this wonderful big black car pulled off and offered them a ride home. They were awed by the car and it became a true thrill of a lifetime when they found out they were riding with “Curly” Lambeau.
