Will the Atlanta game sink in?

Coming off a huge victory against the Bears, the Packers will play the “banged up” Titans. Even though it is not a conference game, this game is very important for the Packers. The main reason is that with a loss to the Titans, the Bear victory doesn’t mean too much because they could be back in second place again. Another reason is that this is December and victories for playoff home games are crucial. I realize that this year the home field advantage has not held up as in years past, but the Packers would much rather be at Lambeau than traveling to St. Louis, Philadelphia, or Chicago. We will find out on Sunday if the Packers want this game right from the start. Will the players be emotionally up for the challenge? Will the tackling and blocking be terrible? Will the receivers give up on their routes? We shall find out on Sunday and I feel the Packers will be ready to play a solid game. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize the special teams have to improve quickly for any chance of going to the Super Bowl this year. The opponents have an average starting position at their own 28 yard-line, this has to improve. Can you imagine giving the Rams the ball at their 30 or 35 yard-line? I know Bill Schroeder has been the top playmaking receiver for the Packers, but most of the big plays have happened with him streaking down the sidelines or on a short crossing route. Usually the pass is right on the money from Favre, and on those plays and all he has to do is catch it. My problem with Schroeder is that he never comes down with a ball in traffic (the long pass he dropped against Jacksonville that went through his hands) and he never fights for an extra yard and immediately runs out of bounds. But all things considered, he has not done too badly this year.  I wonder if the Packers would ever let Bill throw a pass off of a reverse, it might not be a bad idea considering he is the third string quarterback. I noticed the Browns picked up Chris Akins this week, what a co-incidence considering the Browns are the Packers next opponent. I am really glad to see Coach Sherman not put up with Akins and his attitude anymore. Way to go Sherman! I hate to say this about a player from the Bears, but Brian Urlacher is going to be one of the great ones! He is one of the very few linebackers that can play the run and pass and do it well! How about my man William Henderson, he is on a mission when he blocks for Ahman and Dorsey. There was one play against Chicago where Henderson took out a linebacker and a safety with one block! If he is not in the Pro Bowl I will never watch one of those games again, please get out and vote for Henderson, he deserves it. I am sure everyone read or heard about the comments made by Randy Moss. What a jerk! He actually makes the Packers contract with Freeman look good. It is a shame that a player with tremendous talent like Moss, refuses to grow up and put in the effort to be the best he can be. But on the other hand, Moss is a Viking, so I hope he remains a jerk! Well I hope everyone enjoys a Packer victory this Sunday, stay safe!
