This Monday all the hype will be focused on Brett Favre against Reggie White, that is what ABC will try to build up. More importantly, it will be a must win for the Packers. With playoff hopes still hanging, the Pack will try and improve on a dismal road record (1-4) and gain some momentum going into Chicago. It will be nice to see Reggie again, only if he doesn’t whip up on Tauscher Monday. Just to set the record straight, it was Ron Wolf who told Reggie that the Pack was not interested in him. Reggie did not jump ship on the green and gold uniform. Making the playoffs will be very shaky; they cannot afford to lose more than one game. A 9-7 record is not a guarantee to make it, but I don’t think the Pack will finish better than that this year. Who knows, they might finish with a 7-9 record, that is a possibility also!
It has been nice to see Sherman taking a few chances, even though it appears only to be in desperation. If the Packers do not make it to the playoffs there is at least one good thing about it. We have gotten a chance to see what we have as far as depth goes. Injuries have taken a toll on the team this year from day one. Wayne and Hunt have shown they can play well, this would have never happened if it were not for injuries. The players that have stepped in have gained valuable game experience and will make it easier to be evaluated before next year. The players and coaches will be able to see in what areas these players need to improve and what they can do best.
In the back of my mind I know they are probably teasing us again. But it would be a great Christmas present to go to the playoffs by beating the Bucs on Christmas Eve. I have already asked Santa for snow and more Melissa Stark on Monday!
